An excellent expression of what Viognier can do in Niagara in warm years. This wine was picked at optimum ripeness and fermented in a mix of stainless steel and neutral French oak. The subtly of the oak is important to maintaining varietal typicity.
Aromatic and bright on the nose with just a touch of oak. It shows white flower, marmalade, and a little ginger. The palate has so much texture and lots of stone fruit. The finish has lots of cool wax-like texture.
I would pair this with grilled pork medallion and peaches, fresh sourdough and butter, or roast chicken with rosemary.
