The 2020 vintage was almost perfect for Niagara winemakers. The conditions for ripeness of the Bordeaux varieties was ideal and this Cabernet Franc is a testament to that. The wine aged for 16 months in a mix of French and America Oak to support the fruit, and soften tannin.
Beautiful ruby colour. Chocolate, raspberry and subtle oak spice on the nose. The palate is bright red fruit with some dark cherry notes. The oak is well integrated, and supports the fruit as opposed to overpowering it. Tannins have softened nicely with time but are still present enough to create a nice warmth the finish.
Perfect pepperoni pizza wine, barbecue flank steak or with dark chocolate.
