Our “101” series is the introduction to red wine in Ontario and this is a fun blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (37%), Pinot Noir (35%), Merlot (15%) and Petit Verdot (13%). These varieties on their own offer texture, fruit and ripe tannins, and together as a blend they come together to produce an easy drinking expression of a red blend.
The colour is bright ruby. The nose boasts dark cherry, fresh raspberry and hints of mocha and oak. On the palate it is plum and leather notes with more black cherry on the finish. It has smooth tannins and a finish that shows baking spice and cooked fruit character with a cleansing acidity.
Smoked meats and barbequed meats or vegetables, or a robust Bolognese sauce.
