2021 Dean's List Pinot Noir, 91 Points (Rick Vansickle)
The 2021 vintage highlights the elegance of a cooler Niagara growing season, showcasing the art of winemaking in challenging conditions. Aged for 16 months in a mix of neutral and new French oak, this garnet-hued wine offers aromas of bright cherry and violets. The palate is vibrant with red fruit and earthy undertones, while the oak remains subtle and well-integrated. Softened tannins and refreshing acidity create a balanced, smooth finish.
2022 Dean's List Pinot Noir, 92 Points (Rick Vansickle)
The 2022 vintage marks the inaugural Pinot Noir from the Niagara College Teaching Vineyard, showcasing resilience after a harsh winter. Despite a lighter yield, the fruit remained concentrated, resulting in a beautifully deep ruby-hued wine. Handpicked and aged for 12 months in four-year-old French oak, it offers aromas of dark cherry and subtle beetroot. The palate is vibrant with bright red fruit and earthy undertones, supported by well-integrated oak. Grippy tannins and balanced acidity lead to a clean, structured finish.
